Our Why?

Born and raised on the very farm that our facility sits today in Wilton California, David Freitas’ love and passion for the game of baseball developed at an early age even before his mom first put a batting cage on the property when he was 10. He attended the University of Hawaii where he excelled as a Division 1 catcher and was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 15th round of the 2010 MLB draft. David went on to live out any childs dream with a 14 year professional career that included 7 years of MLB service.

Upon retiring he came back to Wilton to coach his two young sons. Very quickly he realized that this was his retirement calling, to pass on all the baseball knowledge and wisdom that he has not just to his sons but to all the youth in the area. By establishing the Bandits not only is he able to teach the game he loves, but as the kind hearted man that he is, he is now able to impact the lives of hundreds of children that are part of our programs and teams both on and off the field.

As a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit organization, our success would not be possible without the amazing assistance of our community, our partners and our sponsors. From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate all of their support and contributions!
